Publication Scheme

Section 19(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires every public authority to adopt and maintain a publication scheme. The PPS scheme sets out the classes of information we hold, how we intend to publish the information and if there is a charge for it.

The Information Commissioner is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. They have created a Model Publication Scheme and a Definition Document for all Northern Ireland Public Sector organisations.

The PPS have adopted the Information Commissioner’s model publication scheme. We will regularly update and periodically review the scheme to ensure that the information remains current.

The scheme is organised into seven classes of information.

1. Who we are and what we do

2. What we spend and how we spend it

3. What our priorities are and how we are doing

4. How we make decisions

5. Our policies and procedures

6. Lists and registers

7. The Services we offer

All information on the publication scheme is free to access and use. There may be a small fee charged should you request any of the information in hardcopy. You will be informed if there are any charges before the release of the information.

You can make a written request for information if it is not available from the publication scheme.
