The Director of Public Prosecutions, Stephen Herron, has offered sincere condolences to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  

Speaking on behalf of the Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland, Mr Herron paid tribute to the Queen’s unparalleled life and legacy.

“Her Majesty the Queen lived a truly extraordinary life and her passing will be deeply felt by her family along with countless others who mourn this sad loss,” he said.  

“I would particularly pay tribute to the Queen’s exceptional public service over many decades. Her tireless dedication was a strong example to many, reaching across boundaries and political divides. 

“We in the PPS offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family who we are thinking of at this sorrowful time.”
