PPS launches consultation on Hate Crime Policy

Publication date:

As part of its ongoing commitment to developing its services to victims and witnesses, the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) has today launched a public consultation on its Hate Crime policy.

The policy explains the definition of hate crime and the way in which PPS will deal with such cases.  It also outlines the services available to victims and witnesses of hate crime

The PPS realises that this is an important issue and looks forward to receiving views from the community throughout Northern Ireland.

The consultation will run from 9 July until 1 October 2009.

Notes to editors

Any member of the public may comment on the policy by contacting PPS by email or in writing.
